Welcome to www.Texel-Sheep.com the home of Waterlands Pedigree Texel Sheep Flock based in Stewarton, Ayrshire, Scotland. Waterlands Pedigree Texel Flock was established in 2009. In 2009 Tom and Sue Bagan invested in some of the best of Scotlands Texel Blood Stock from Garngour, Teiglum, Muiresk and Glenside for their, MV Accredited and Blue Tongue Vaccinated, Waterlands Pedigree Texel Sheep foundation flock. In 2010 new acquisitions of Texel Sheep Blood stock came with gimmers from Stainton, Cambwell, Watchknowe and Texel Tups from Cairness and Garngour.
Tom and Sue set out, in their foundation year, to breed Texel Pedigree Sheep as natually as possible. They decided not to use sponges, Artifical Insemination and did not interfere in any way, with the natural cycling of the Texel Ewes. Breeding season 2010/11 took Tom and Sue to experimenting with Embryo Transfer from the Texel gimmer who won the August 2010 Lanark Show, her pen mate from that sale who was 5th at the Royal Highland Show 2011 and the Texel ewe lamb shared with Clarks Farms who was second place in the Texel Sheep Ewe Lamb Class at the Royal Highland Show 2010. Experimenting in both these ways has been very exciting. Our Texel ram lamb Waterlands Simply the Best was 5th at this years Royal Highland with all 3 Texel Tup Lambs shown being moved into the second round.
